CBSE PHYSICS: ASSIGNMENT ON MAGNETIC EFFECTS OF CURRENT CBSE PHYSICS: ASSIGNMENT ON MAGNETIC EFFECTS OF CURRENT   Topic Wise:  CBSE PHYSICS  TYPE  A MAGNETIC FIELD and  FIELD LINES 1. What effects do you expect on passing current through a conductor? 2. How it can be shown that a current carrying conductor produces a magnetic field? 3. Why compass always align itself in approximately north–south direction? 4. Why some substances exhibit   magnetism   naturally, while others don’t? 5. What do you mean by ‘magnetic field lines’?  6. List the characteristics of magnetic field lines? 7. How magnetic field lines are drawn? 8. How one can represent a region of  uniform magnetic field  using magnetic field lines? 9. Why two magnetic field lines never cross each other? 10. What is the direction of magnetic field line? 11. What is necessary to have a magn

TOPIC : Heron’s Formula 1. Find the area of the triangle whose sides are 13cm, 14cm and 15cm. 2. Prove that the length of the altitude of an equilateral triangle of side ‘a’ is √3/2a 3. The sides of a triangular field are 120m, 160m & 200m. Find the cost of ploughing it at the cost of 25 paise per square m. 4. The length of sides of a right angled triangle forming the right angle are 5x cm and (3x – 1) cm. If the area of the triangle is 60 cm2, find its all sides. 5. Find the perimeter of an isosceles right angled triangle having area 200 cm2. 6. Find the area of a quadrilateral ABCD in which AB = 3cm, BC = 4 cm, CD = 4 cm, DA = 5 cm and AC = 5cm. 7. A triangle and a parallelogram have the same base and the same area. If the sides of the triangle are 26cm, 28cm and 30cm, and parallelogram stands on the base 28cm, find the height of the parallelogram. 8. A field is in the shape of trapezium whose parallel si

CBSE PHYSICS X: Magnetic Effect of current Solve Practice questions

Q. What do you understand by magnetic effect of electric current? Ans: The phenomenon due to which, a wire behaves like a magnet when electric current is passed through it, is called as the magnetic effect of electric current. Q. What is magnetic field?  Ans: The region around the magnet, where force of attraction or repulsion can be felt by magnetic materials, is called as magnetic field. Q. Why does a compass needle get deflected when brought near a bar magnet ? Ans: The magnet exerts its influence in the region surrounding it.So, the compass needle shows deflection when brought near a magnet or an electromagnet. Q. Why two magnetic field lines do not intersect each other? Ans: The magnetic field lines the magnetic field lines form closed curves and originate in fix direction inside and out side magnet so magnetic field lines do not intersect each other. Q. What happens to the deflection of the compass needle placed at a given point if the current in the straight copper wire
